Real Time Protection

Introduction

Real-time protection is provided to you from PC Matic, with the use of SuperShield. This is automatically installed with PC Matic complete, Advanced, and Ultimate. The protection will continue to run each time you power on your computer. It monitors everything that attempts to run on your computer in real time to keep you protected from all threats.

Quarantined Files

Anything malicious found by the real time protection, or by the PC Matic Security scans, will be placed in quarantine. You can access these files from the PC Matic program window.

1. Open PC Matic, click the Security tab, then select Quarantined Files

2. You can view the files which have been quarantined here and decide whether you would like to have them permanently deleted, or have them restored, in the event of a false positive.

Enhanced Firewall

Open PC Matic and click on the Security tab.

Click on Enhanced Firewall from the right side menu.

You will see all of your network info here.

You can also allow or disallow apps through your firewall.

Firewall settings are off - which turns it off

manual - gives you the ability to determine what enhanced firewall rules are used.

Default - The enhanced firewall is set to use all of the rules by default.

File Shredder

PC Matic's File Shredder permanently deletes files from your computer or storage device, making them unrecoverable by traditional file recovery method.

1. Open PC Matic, click the Security tab, and select File Shredder.

2. Click the Browse button and select the file you would like to have shredded.

3. Once you have made your selection, click Shred File.

4. The file has been completely removed from the hard drive.
