The PC Matic Performance page provides a comprehensive overview of the current performance metrics for the CPU (central processing unit) and RAM (random access memory), along with the utilization of disk space on the device. Additionally, it provides a performance score to evaluate the overall quality of the PC.
Optimize Your PC
The optimization feature provides you with the ability to scan your device for junk files, thereby boosting the performance of your computer while also enhancing internet speeds.
- Click the green "scan now button" to initiate a scan
- This page provides the option to configure additional parameters, including the ability to conduct a malware scan alongside the junk file scan, and also to update any existing installed applications on your device.
- After You set your additional parameters you will click the "scan now button" to begin the scan
- During the scanning process, you can monitor the current scan step and its progress.
- Upon completion of the scan, a window will appear, presenting your scan results. Additionally, you have the option to review previous scans.
Manage Large Files On Your Device
PC Matic now offers a new feature that enables users to efficiently manage large files on their devices, which could be occupying a significant amount of space and causing a decrease in device performance.
- Click "Manage large files" to begin the process
- Upon Choosing "Manage Large Files," a comprehensive scan of the files on your computer will begin. Once the scan is finished, you will be able to identify which files to remove, thus freeing up storage space and potentially improving your device's performance. You also have the option to stop the scan and resume it at a later time.
Startup Manager
PC Matic has implemented a startup manager feature, enabling users to choose the programs that launch when the computer boots up. This functionality can greatly reduce the time needed to reach the desktop. Furthermore, users will benefit from improved performance when multitasking or running heavier applications.
- To initiate the process, navigate to the Startup Manager Tab on the right side of your performance page.
- The startup manager will initiate the analysis of the startups on your device. Upon completion, you will be able to select which programs start up when your device boots, thereby enhancing computer speeds and performance.
