Scans
How to run a manual scan
- Click the Security icon on the sidebar
- Click the green "Scan Now" button
- Once you click scan now you will be prompted with preferences for your scan
- Select "Full Scan" for a thorough check of your entire computer.
- If you're in a hurry, select "Quick Scan" to check the most critical areas.
- If you just want a device cleanup to improve device performance select "Skip"
- Click the blue "Scan Now" button
- While in progress, You can see the current scan step & progressions of that step.
- Once completed a window with your scan results will popup.
How to run a scheduled scan
You can either run an individual scheduled scan for one computer, or you can use the global schedule to apply one scan to all of your devices.
PC Matic recommends a weekly quick malware scan and a monthly full malware scan.
These scans should be scheduled on different days so they don't overlap. (Example: A weekly quick scan on Friday and a monthly full scan on Sunday)
While PC Matic does not currently offer the functionality to manually choose or adjust a scanning date, you can create the schedule on your preferred day and time. The scan will automatically initiate on a weekly or monthly basis, usually around the same day and time that it was scheduled. Please note that the timing of the scans may vary slightly each week or month due to reliance on the computer's status and internet connection. In the event of a missed scan, the scheduler will make an effort to run the scan once the device is back online. Moreover, any interrupted scans should resume upon reconnection and finish at a subsequent time.
- Open PC Matic and click on View all devices.
- Click on Scheduler under the device you want to create a scheduled scan.
Note:
If you would like to delete an existing scan, click the X button to the left of the scan information. If you wish to edit the existing scan, click the pencil icon.
- Configure your scan settings. You can also send reports to your account email.
- Then click save. It will be added to your scheduler.
Global Schedule
- Click on View all devices.
- Click on Create Schedule underneath the Global Schedule heading.
- Customize your scheduled scan settings. Then click save
Scan History
- Open the PC Matic Security tab, then click on "Scan History" in the right side menu.
- Click on the Select Scan Date drop down box. Each date represents a completed scan. Select the desired scan from this list to view the results.
- The scan results will be displayed for your selected scan.
