Scam Blocker

The PC Matic Scam Blocker intelligently detects and intercepts phone scam alerts, ensuring that you are protected from fraudulent and unwanted scams.

Installation

The PC Matic Scam Blocker is available for the Chrome, Edge, and Firefox (coming soon) browsers. To install, select your browser version below.

Chrome

1. Open the Chrome Browser.
2. Access the Scam Blocker extension page inside the Chrome Store.
3. Click the blue Add to Chrome button in the upper right corner of the page.
4. Click Add extension in the pop-up window.
5. After the installation completes, the green shield will appear in the upper right corner with the words SCAM BLOCKER in orange. If you don’t see it, click the puzzle piece, and then click the pin to set it to always display.

Edge

1. Open the Edge Browser.
2. Access our ad blocker inside the Edge Add-ons Store.
3. At the top right, click Get.
4. In the popup, click Add extension.
5. After the installation completes, the green shield will appear in the upper right corner with the words SCAM BLOCKER in orange. If you don’t see it, click the puzzle piece, and then click the pin to set it to always display.

Firefox

1. Open the Firefox browser.
2. Access our ad blocker from the Firefox Addons page.
3. Click the Add to Firefox button.
4. In the popup, click the Add button.
5. After the installation completes, the green shield will appear in the upper right corner with the words SCAM BLOCKER in orange. If you don’t see it, click the puzzle piece.

Whitelist a Page

If you find that a page is being redirected but it is safe, you can add the URL (website address) to the whitelist.

To do so:

1. Right-click the Scam Blocker icon in the web browser, then click Options.

   

   2. In the Scam Blocker Options page, type or paste your URL into the window, then click the Save button.
