Running a Scan

After PC Matic has been installed, run an initial scan and clean to remove any potential threats on your system.

1. Click the green scan now button.

   

2. Once you click scan now you will be prompted with preferences for your scan:
   • Malware Scan: finds and removes malware from the computer.
     • Quick: checks the most critical areas for malware
     • Full: a thorough check of your entire computer
     • Skip: does not scan the computer for malware
   • Clean Junk Files: Removes junk files and improves computer performance.

   • Update Installed Applications: Updates a selected number of applications, if installed, to patch security vulnerabilities

     

While in progress, You can see the current scan step & progressions of that step.

Once completed a window with your scan results will open.
