VPN Restrictions

When using a VPN (Virtual Private Network), there are instances where you may not be able to access certain websites. This can happen for several reasons:

Geographical Restrictions: Some websites and online services restrict access based on your physical location. They do this to comply with licensing agreements or regional regulations. When you connect to a VPN, your internet traffic is routed through a server in a different location, which can make it appear as if you are accessing the internet from that server's location. If the website you're trying to access has strict geographical restrictions, it may block or limit access when it detects that you're using a VPN.

VPN Blocking: In an effort to prevent unauthorized access or enforce region-based restrictions, some websites actively block connections from known VPN servers. They do this by identifying the IP addresses associated with popular VPN services and blocking them. If you're using a VPN server that has been blocked by a particular website, you may not be able to access that site while connected to the VPN.

Sending mail from your ISP email account might not work. If you use an email address from your internet service provider like [email protected], your email might not work properly while connected to our VPN. The reason for this is that some ISPs block the ability to send mail out if you are trying to send email from an IP address outside of their network. So, if you are connected to our VPN, your IP address will no longer show as coming from your ISP; it will show as coming from us and could be blocked in some cases. To resume being able to send email from your ISP email account, simply disconnect from our VPN.

Restrictions: In certain cases, the network or firewall settings of the network you're connected to may block or restrict VPN connections. This can be intentional, such as in corporate or educational environments where VPN usage is prohibited or restricted for security reasons. It can also be unintentional, where the network infrastructure or firewall settings interfere with VPN connections, leading to difficulties accessing certain sites.

To overcome these limitations, you can try the following:

Connect to a different VPN server: Switching to a different server within your VPN provider's network may help bypass restrictions imposed by specific websites.

Use a different VPN protocol: Some VPN providers offer multiple protocols to establish a secure connection. Try switching between different protocols, such as OpenVPN, IKEv2, or WireGuard, to see if it improves access to the desired sites.
