Install PC Matic on macOS 12 Monterey

To complete the installation process, you will need to know the administrator password for the computer. This is most likely the password you use to log in to your Mac on a daily basis.



  1. Download the PC Matic installer file.
  2. Navigate to where you downloaded and saved the .dmg installer file.
  3. Open the InstallPCMatic.dmg  file to begin the installation process.
  4. A new window will open containing the PC Matic.pkg installer file.
  5. Double-click the PC Matic.pkg  file to open the installer.
  6. Click Continue then click Install to begin the installation.
  7. When prompted, enter your administrator password and click Install Software. Installation will begin and may take a few minutes,
  8. During install, you will get a prompt about notifications from the PC Matic applications, select to Allow notifications.
  9. Once the install completes, click Close.
  10. When prompted, select Move to Trash, to delete the installer file.
  11. You should now see a red PC Matic/SuperShield icon in the Status Bar at the top of your desktop.
  12. Click the icon, and select Register Computer to connect this Mac with your PC Matic account.
  13. Enter the email address and password associated with your PC Matic account.
  14. The PC Matic/SuperShield icon will turn green.
  15. Your Mac will prompt you to allow our system extension. This is critical for antivirus products and must be allowed for PC Matic to protect your device. Click Open Security Preferences in the prompt.
  16. In the Security and Privacy window, at the bottom of the General tab, you will see System Software from application 'PC Matic Tray' was blocked from loading. Unlock the window by clicking the lock in the lower left corner and entering your administrator password. Then click the Allow button. After you click Allow, the option will disappear.
  17. After allowing the PC Matic system extension, you will receive a prompt that PC Matic needs additional Security & Privacy settings. Click Open System Preferences in the prompt.
  18. The System Preferences window will open to Security & Privacy > Privacy tab > Full Disk Access. Place a check mark next to PC Matic System Extension first, then place a check mark next to PC Matic.
  19. You will get a prompt that PC Matic will not have full disk access until it is quit. Click on Quit Now.
  20. Close the System Preferences window.
  21. The PC Matic/SuperShield icon will close and reopen.
